Jeanie Leslie
Designer
Jeanie joined Arterra in 2022, drawn by the history of the studio and the quality of the design work.
Jeanie was studying natural sciences and social/behavioral sciences when she realized that landscape design was a way to bring both of these fields together. This brought her to study landscape architecture at UC Berkeley, where she became interested in architectural models. She pursued modelmaking professionally before deciding that she wanted to move into working at a real world scale.
As an environmentalist, she finds using plants as a medium fascinating, and she loves working on planting concepts and plans at Arterra. She also enjoys working on conceptual designs with loose sketches and hand drawings; it's nice to get off the computer and do something more tactile. She is particularly interested in minimal and monochromatic designs with lots of texture.
Originally from LA, Jeanie is excited to explore San Francisco and the Bay Area, biking around to gardens and nurseries, and enjoying picnics in the parks.
